Nada compara...

Nada compara

Nada compara

-The Puppet Master (excerpt from 'Live, laugh and love: the history between the lines of my story')

Nuevo comienzo...

                                                                        "Metamorphosis embracing Duality" Byron Tik

Mi música es sólo eco
Del crujir al andar
sobre el remanente
de mi caparazón roto
Pues vencido fui
Por mi misma fuerza
Habiendo atravesado
Cual tormentoso mar
En nave esbelta
El corazón con una lanza
para derramar el preciado
Tesoro liquefacto
Lágrimas sanquinolentas
Que alimentan el jardín
Que creí se había perdido
Tiembla el suelo de mi alma
Centella el trueno de mi voz
Quemando todo lo que fue
Dando paso a la ceniza
Que lleva y libera la brisa
Para cubrir mi tierra
De donde crece entre la nada
Donde brota de repente
Lo que nadie imaginó
Florecería entre las ruinas
Y así entre huracán
Lluvia y neblina
Salgo airoso nuevamente

Scare crow...

“Scars are not injuries, Tanner Sack. A scar is a healing. After an injury, a scar is what makes you whole.” ― China Miéville, The Scar

Just one step down is needed,
one step away from my cross
into the sordid ground,
the fall that comes after my hands' release
the earth that laughs, that mocks, that marks the place
of my grounding, of the kneeling

A tree would feed on this ground
that drains my soul, but I'm no tree
I'm an empty shell of who I was,
a wounded soldier, a knight of straw,
a king of the realm of nothing
a warrior whose hands
have been the shield
and thus I've crucified myself

The choking hands of solitude
and desperation always by its side
caress my lips, claw at my face
to own my life and soul forever

But hear me, nothingness
hear the echo of my howl
I drink my tears
I never lose
I don't give up
I spread my wings of bone
and arm myself again
as Icarus returned

Lesson learned: Let your tears be the water that will feed your roots so that you may grow stronger every time.

Silence speaks...

"Sometimes silence speaks louder than words"
-The Puppet Master

As soon as you walk away having finished your conversation you look at your mobile phone to text and answer emails. Then you get in the car, make a phone call and engage in conversation. Immediately after being done (if not before) you turn the radio on. Honk the horn at someone else in perhaps the mildest form of road rage. You reach your destination and, after asked to wait for a brief few minutes, you sit down checking your phone again, or playing with an app.

We make time for everything. This way keep our brains active while our minds race. Racing in this road to nowhere, because it all ends one day...

Part of the reason why many seek Adderal, Ritalin, yoga, drugs, alcohol, you name it, is because we don't just suffer from stress, but we actively give stress the rope to hang us by the neck. Filled with this inner turmoil caused by ourselves we end up sabotaging our own happiness.

When was the last time you took five minutes, just five short minutes of your day to sit in silence, solitude, and listen to yourself without opening your mouth. Listen to the world, let your brainwaves lap the shore of your very essence and become not 'one with the universe' but one with yourself, with your inner universe.

This is not about energy, chakras, religion or auras, spells, yoga, tarot, horoscopes or reiki. This is about you giving yourself time to be at peace, in the quiescence of being with yourself.

Lesson learned: Before spending money on seeking answers, listen for them.

Clay jar...

"You don't die of a broken heart, you only wish you did.”
-Marilyn Peterson

The loud cracking sound echoes through the empty shell of a room once called a heart. Thousands of shards fly in every direction, some close enough...some small and far away...some never to be seen again... A few would indiscriminately pierce your skin and remind you of the vase that was, of the masterpiece that fell.

Now it is up to each and every one of us to decide how to act and what to see. A broken vase is not a vase, at least not the same. It can't hold water any longer. Regardless of the time spent collecting each broken piece to try and put it all together, if looked at closely, you'll see the cracks and missing pieces.
Fools play and juggle with fragile pieces, and the same fools desperately try to fix them once their idiocy has dropped the vase that now lies cracked. Let them pick up the shards if they want. Let their hands be wounded in their fruitless pursuit, for only a greater fool can think he can teach a fool.

Lesson learned: A broken clay jar, is not the same jar it was before, and it can never be. It cannot hold the water it once did, but it can certainly be displayed in that museum of our mind for us to remember precious things should not be handled by clumsy fools.

Heart's pounding...

‘It is important to forget the past, but it is even more important not to forget it.’
'Hardship is the greatest of anvils'

-the Puppet Master

The past is passed, we hear say. We need to leave things behind, it’s agreeable. We need to let go…now this, however, to some extent. The past, more than our present, has taken a most (if not THE most) important role in defining our role in that movie called ‘Our Lives’.
Sometimes we’d rather forget all the pain we have gone through, those times when our heart has been beaten to a pulp, beaten against a rock until no more blood and tears are left. Forgetting the pain does not protect us, it makes us oblivious to a potential upcoming catastrophe. That grinding of each wall of our hearts may leave cracks, but is it up to us to take that heart in our hand and place it on the flaming forge of our existence. We need to lift a hammer of reality, of recognition of the truth, and use it to pound that heart time and time again. Do it oneself can be more painful, but we don’t learn from the result, we learn best through the process.
We can seal the cracks, we can see where the strength is needed, but only if we are willing to stop covering our eyes to hide from our truth. It may take some time, it may surprise us that some tears are still left. Only after this entire process we will be able to cool it down to reveal an armored heart ready to face the same problem with a different approach.
Lesson learned: Behind each burning wound lies fertile ground for growth, it is up to take advantage of it.

Waking up...

Eye windows open once again
The cold world is gone
Hibernation ends
It is time for the ice
To melt under the warmth
Of the heart's hearth

The pelt is shaken
The stregth returns
The joints move once more
As I pace around
A melting prison
The mouth is open

The fangs are bare
Claws pierce the ground
With fire, with fury
Atop the highest rock
For it is time to speak
It is time to howl
heed me, my pack
The Wolf has returned

Million air...

There is no wealth but life.
John Ruskin

What a bad feeling when we ask for a raise at work and it is denied. We strongly believe we 'deserve it'(even if we know we really don't). All that we thought about doing with more money now fades away. Riches are here one day, and we dream while sleeping in a bed of gold and materialism.

Slowly, frustration crawls in. Like a worm under the skin of a corpse, it consumes us, eating our soul from inside...

Those people left homeless by a natural disaster are sometimes luckier than us. They learn that when all is gone there's only two things that matter, love and life.

Yes it is great to have material possessions. It is wonderful to sit in your perfect car, eat the perfect food, and dress the perfect clothes of your biased, imperfect world. What I mean is, if that is what makes you live a happy life, then you lead a sad life.

Lesson learned: Life is only worth living if we learn how to live it.

Invisible shackles...

"First we make our habits, then our habits make us."
-Charles C Noble

'Good morning facebook'
'Eating'
'Hanging out with my friends'
'On my way to the supermarket'
'Ugh, what a headache'
'Good night facebook!'

Are you a slave?

Are you a facebook slave?

I have asked this several times to people and they have somehow felt offended. Its just a matter of analyzing oneself and producing a simple answer: 'Yes' or 'No'.
Most of us will say 'Of course not', but if we think clearly the answer will most likely be 'Of course I am'.

Please don't take me wrong, I have nothing against facebook. In fact it is great we can connect with people. Facebook is not the problem, the problem is us giving it a priority in our lives.
How many times a day do you log in to check facebook?
How many times a week do you update your status?
How many times do you post comments on people's every picture or comment?
How much time do you truly spend in a day on facebook?
How many times have you been logging in to facebook during a dinner? Or even worse, on a one-on-one dinner with someone, and not because you received a notice, but because unconsciously
it deserves more respect than the person facing you.

Can you stay a week without logging in to facebook? How about 24 hours? If you're able, how many times does facebook come to your mind? How crazy do you get when you log back in to try and 'catch up' with people's 'lives'.
We have a 'friends' list, which in the end many times is just a list of people we added because they look good. Are they truly our friends? Most likely not. Do they even care about all those 'Waking up', 'On my way to work' status updates? Again, most likely not.
But we delude ourselves, secretly believing we are popular and everyone wants to follow what we do every minute.

Maybe you disagree with me, or you may think it doesn't play such a big part in your life, for you have other priorities.

As a test, pick a friend on your facebook list and block them(or just become invisible to them). What happens next? They get offended...why? How would you feel if you were the one blocked from facebook? Probably offended too...why?

Because you haven't added facebook to your life, you have added your life
to facebook.

Some people have felt a little offended by the posting. Once again I say, facebook is not the problem. I have nothing against it. In fact, the word facebook can be substituted by video games, clothing, money, work, anything that takes the priority in your life. Someone even commented: 'ironic, you posted this on facebook'. It's not ironic. Then again, I decided facebook is a tool in my life, not a shackle.

If you're happy living as a slave by all means, please, stay a slave.

Lesson learned: If you give the leading role of your life to something other than yourself, don't feel bad people take less interest in the movie of your life.
